Why should you get BOTOX® ?
You've probably heard a lot
about BOTOX® Cosmetic. It's been in the news, in fashion, health, and beauty magazines, and on TV. Your
friends may even be talking about how it works.
Could this be what you’ve
been looking for—a procedure that can temporarily smooth those moderate to severe frown lines between your brows with
no surgery and no recovery time? The results can last up to 4 months and with repeated treatments your muscles will actually
be retrained to make a more permanent outcome. We also treat crow's feet and forehead lines using Botox. In
addition, some people even get relief from tension headaches with treatment of the forehead and frown lines.
Why would you get treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic?
- You
think those stubborn frown lines between your brows make you look tired or upset.
- It seems like something that you could do to help maintain your appearance.
- You want to relax the lines around the eyes or the forehead

Almost 3.3 million procedures were performed in 2005 alone—a 16% increase over 2004.
Not just models and movie stars, but people from all types of professions have tried it.
In
fact, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) ranked BOTOX® Cosmetic as the most popular
physician-administered aesthetic procedure in the United States for the fourth year in a row (surgical and nonsurgical combined).
What's more, the ASAPS surveys ranked BOTOX® Cosmetic as one of the low-entry-cost
facial aesthetic procedures in the United States.
What
is Botox?
BOTOX® Cosmetic
is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between
the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA).
One 10-minute treatment—a
few tiny injections—and within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the
brows, which can last up to 4 months. Results may vary.
BOTOX®
Cosmetic is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the
muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows to form over time.
How
is BOTOX®
administered?
BOTOX® is injected into the muscles of the face using a very fine
gauge needle. Your doctor or nurse will know where to inject based upon knowledge of facial anatomy and where your lines
and wrinkles are.
Is the procedure painful?
It causes a little discomfort; most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. Overall, the discomfort
is minimal and temporary.
When will I start to
see results?
You should start to see visible improvement within a few days. The area may continue
to improve for up to a week.
How will Botox affect
my facial expressions?
Botox is injected in small doses directly into the muscles that cause those moderate
to severe lines to form between the brows, crows' feet or forehead, allowing that area to smooth out. It won't
affect your ability to laugh, smile, or otherwise express yourself!
Is Botox expensive?
Actually, it's quite affordable compared to many other treatments.
In fact, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Botox is one of the least costly facial aesthetic
procedures performed in the United States.
