If you want instant gratification with lasting results,
then dermal fillers may be just the right treatment for you. Fillers are substances that are injected under the skin
to fill wrinkles and folds or add volume to almost any area of the body. The most popular areas for treatment are the
"parentheses" next to the mouth and lip enhancement to restore or add volume. However, we can restore volume
to the cheeks, cheekbones and chin, create a chin implant, fill a deep line between the eyebrows (in conjunction with botox)
and more! Fillers come in many types depending upon the degree of permanence and areas desired.
The two fillers we offer are Juvederm and Radiesse.
Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler made in a laboratory and not from any animal source. There is
no danger of allergy to this filler because it is not made from any animal or human source. Hyaluronic acid is a jelly
like substance that adds to the thickness and natural integrity of skin and is a normal part of human
skin. Juvederm comes in two different thicknesses and can be used for lip enhancement, filling of nasolabial
folds, and filling of the crease between the eyebrows. Juvederm lasts anywhere between 12 and
18 months, but it also causes collagen remodeling to create longer lasting results. Collagen remodeling is
a phenomenon caused by stimulation of the fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen) in the skin by any filler.
Radiesse is a calcium gel that is best for
deep injection to restore volume. With Radiesse we can recreate the gentle youthful contours of the
apples of the cheeks, cheekbones, chin or even restore volume to the hands. Radiesse is also safe and does not cause
allergies as calcium is a natural part of the human body. This is a very long lasting filler and can last up
to two years or more and also causes collagen remodeling.
One of the great benefits of fillers is that you see instant results. Bruising is common, but temporary and
can be covered with make up as needed.
The cost
is between $500 and $750 per syringe. Depending upon the depth of the area that needs to be filled, one to three syringes
may be needed to achieve complete restoration. The best way to determine which areas and how much filler is needed is
to come in for a consultation. Our experienced providers can tell you how many syringes, best placement and the best
type of filler for your particular concern.
