Eminence Organic Facials and Treatments
What is a facial?
A "facial"
is a treatment administered by a licensed aesthetician that can address any number of skin concerns. Facial treatments
typically consist of a skin analysis, deep cleansing, exfoliating and/or masqueing, massage and moisturizing. It may
also include extraction of blackheads or whiteheads. A facial can also include a chemical or enzyme peel.
How often should I have a facial?
Regular facials can help improve the appearance and condition
of your skin, extend the life of laser or surgical treaments and treat many skin conditions. During your facial,
our esthetician will analyze your skin and make recommendations regarding the type and frequency of treatments as well as
a home care program. After a series of treatments to remedy specific problems, a facial treatment is recommended at
least once per month.
What types of skin problems can be treated with facials?
There are
many conditions such as dryness, fine wrinkling, brown spots, acne, scars, oiliness and sun damage to name a few.
How does a chemical peel work?
Chemical peels work similarly to laser peels in that they dissolve
the uppermost layers of the skin to allow new, fresh regrowth. However, the depth of the peel can be very light to very
deep depending upon the peeling agent and how long it is left on the skin. At Sierra Cosmetic Laser we offer light to
moderate chemical peels. The ingredients in chemical peels vary depending upon the condition you wish to treat and depth
of peel. Typical peeling agents include acids (Salicylic, Glycolic, Lactic, Vitamin C) or enzymes (fruit or vegetable)
or a combination.
How will my skin feel after a chemical peel?
It is not uncommon for the
skin to be a bit red right after a peel, somewhat like a sunburn. Over the next few days you will likely notice flaky
peeling of the skin and some darker areas especially if you are treating brown spots. There is typically no "down
time" with a light to moderate peel, you will just need to be careful to avoid a lot of sun exposure and wear
a good quality sunscreen.

How much do your facials cost?
Facials range from $40-50
for a basic half hour "maintenance" facial to $100 for a full hour and a fifteen minute facial that includes
neck/shoulder/arm massage and a lip and eye treatment.
